John Mackie Automatic and Manual Transmissions Ltd is an industry leading specialist, we are looking to appoint a self-motivated, and experienced Vehicle Technician/Mechanic for our remove/refit and diagnostic workshop. (Experience of automatic transmissions not required as training will be provided)

 

Working within our highly skilled team you will undertake fault finding, removal and installation of both automatic and manual gearboxes and road testing to an extremely high standard, working swiftly and efficiently to create a safe and productive environment. Your main duties will be to ensure that all vehicles you work on are completed on time and to a very high standard.

 

In the job you will:

• Carry out testing and diagnostic work

• Remove and install both automatic and manual transmissions

• Plan necessary work and order parts to ensure vehicles are ready as promptly as possible

• Accurately report vehicle faults and work carried out, for ease of reference by service reception

• Train and mentor apprentices when required

• Maintain knowledge of technical developments through attending training courses and developmental activities as required.

 

The ideal candidate will be proficient in the following:

• Time served within the Automotive Industry.

• Be quality focused and target driven

• Experienced in problem solving 

• Excellent communication skills 

• Hold a full UK Drivers Licence (essential)

• Have a positive mental attitude and a willingness to learn
